I get 4 or 5 catalogs by mail stuffed into my mailbox every day by my long-suffering mail delivery person. Buy an item from one company and wham-o! my address has been sold to every Tom, Dick and Harry. Or Harry and David. Today I got a catalog from Pierce College, another from Solutions, a third from The Sharper Image and yet another from Acacia (who are they?) and still counting, an Acorn catalog and (deep breath) a Lands' End catalog. The only one I want is the last one. Help is just around the corner. See that "Catalog Choice" link up there to the left? Click it and see. You enter your information, select the catalogs you do NOT want to receive and they do the rest. They are doing a practical environmental relief action by trying to reduce the amount of stuff that goes into our landfills, inks that poison our groundwater, etc. And fight back against the sale of our names and addresses from one company to another. And no, you will not get more catalogs because you registered with them (I haven't). I suggest you check them out. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
