She has had another surgery, stent installed, massive doses of antibiotics, lots of cheerful faces in her room, but outside in the corridor, expressions of concern and stress.
She is turning yellow, which means her liver is involved. The doctor didn't want to talk to me, because I'm not a family member, but I could see for myself that she is not doing well. I held her hand and told her about the antics of her youngest child and how well her middle child is doing in school. I told her not to worry about the water and electricity and gas heating bills, that I would pay them. Just focus on getting well. Oh, I hope she gets over the worst of this soon. All my husband could talk about was the potential malpractice lawsuit (so much for empathy) and I sent him off to get me some coffee. What she needed was hands-on comforting and gentle words. The fight for her life is much more important right now than who's going to pay for this. If you have a moment, light a candle, pray, or commune with the Universe on her behalf. She's having a rough time. Thanks. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
