2008-08-14 11:37 AM Men Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (1) In the previous post on Alzheimer's I singled out men for discussion because the study to which I referred studied only men and the impact of rumination or overthinking on their long term survival, not women's.
Hence my comments on the benefits to men additionally of living arrangements with a wife/spouse/partner. For most men, and I'm delighted to hear of exceptions, the burden of child rearing (and worrying) falls on women even when they have a career; the planning as well as execution of household chores leaves them with less leisure time than the men have. I can go find the references to cite, if anyone's interested. Those women whose life partners bear an equitable share of the load--the planning and organizing as well as the execution thereof--are truly fortunate. And, in my experience, not the usual case.
