Edgy, yes, that's the word. Uneasy. Jittery. Tetchy. The current economic situation has set me fretting.

So, to assuage my fears, I set to paying bills this morning. I find that doing something positive often helps when free-floating anxiety is dogging my footsteps.

I paid the whole property insurance bill for the entire year: the property insurance and the earthquake insurance. Southern California, ya know.

Then I looked up the car insurance bill. It's available to pay only six months at a time, so that's what I did. The whole six months.

Plus I paid on all the credit cards, the mortgage, the phone, the gas and the department of water and power.

The checking account is now lean and mean, and I feel much better! There's enough left over for cat food, dog kibble and a book or three.
