Gusts are at 75 mph. I just watched a video of a mobile tv van, with camera crew and also an EMT vehicle being blow over, down a hillside. The fire creates its own weather. The EMTs had to run for their lives. Ash is falling out of the sky like snow and everyone is coughing. Many are wearing masks if they have to spend any appreciable time outside. We had hoped the winds would die down after sunrise, but no such luck. They are variable winds, too, which means firefighters are having a terrible time trying to do any sort of containment. It feels like the end of the world. Who needs science fiction? Read/Post Comments (6) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
