Back to work today. There was an email in my box today, one being sent to all employees of a "certain age" asking if they are interested in retiring if the employer offers an additional two years of service credit.

So I ran the numbers, just rough estimates only, because I don't have exact yearly income figures and years of service (calculated to three decimal places) at my fingertips.

But, yes, it's a distinct possibility. I would get very nearly what I net now on my monthly paycheck. It's a definite yes if I can refinance my house for a lower monthly payment. I can almost taste it...June 2010, here I come!

Kind of makes up for the staggering amount I've had to pay for plumbing work during 2008. Have to remember to factor in income and property taxes when planning this escape.
