In the morning I did my Sunday Sexton duties (straighten chairs, organize hymnals, turn on sound system, light candles, etc.) I enjoy doing it because it is a way of worship for me, a service I do with joy (service is our prayer).
The sermon was inspiring. Our minister can really move, touch and inspire when she's in the groove. She made the passover story come to life, the courage and the inspiration vivid for today. The choir sang "Let Freedom Roll Like a Mighty Stream"--one of our favorites. They know it so well, they can really belt it out. Part of my upbeat frame of mind is the anticipation of going on a vacation at the end of July with a friend. The anticipation and planning are fun in themselves and I know we'll have a good time whatever we do, wherever we go. I'm the kind of person who can deal with any amount of adversity if I can see some light on the horizon, feel some hope in the wind, look for some enjoyment in the future. This trip couldn't have come at a better time, nor with a finer companion. We December babies do love to travel. Horizon? Let me go there.
