Case in point: Our local school district publishes a chart showing the backgrounds of students in our schools. Hispanic.................74.3% African American 10.2% White...................... 8.6% Asian...................... 3.8% Filipino................... 2.4% and the rest are "other", very small tenths of percentages. Only the old-timers talk about "minorities" any more. The correct reference phrase is "people of color". Integrating the educational experience is now a question of distributing children of no color equitably. I guess. Just so you know. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
