Feeling Much Better

A couple of nights, sleeping 9 - 10 hours a night, and I feel so much better. Sleep really does knit up the ravell'd sleeve of care. One of the secrets for managing MS is to pursue opportunities to sleep, to take my supplements religiously, and to suppress my inclination to express my irritability (another symptom of MS).

Continuing to carry on is a sure fire way to incur a major event, I've learned. I'll only carry on if there were compelling reasons to do so, because I pay the price afterward.

On another topic....

Saw "Undercover Blues" last night. Humorous spy story set in New Orleans. Kathleen Turner, Dennis Quaid. Another showcasing of stereotypes, done with a soupcon of humor. The baby nearly stole the show. So cute.

Cookie was waiting under the rose bush for me this morning, to say hello and receive a small gift of ear rubs before I set off to work and he to whatever cats do all day. Sleep mostly, I guess. His people were up till the wee hours of the morning, but after 9 p.m. they were very quiet. I do appreciate their considerate behavior (also quite probable that they don't want a visit from the police).

Forty-two (42) until vacation starts. I'm packed, except for last minute stuff, like toothbrush and glasses. In a way, I try not to think about it, because I have to pay attention to work projects, very detail-oriented and demanding at this time of year. Day-dreaming is not part of my job description, drat.

Gasoline prices have jumped more than 25 cents a gallon since last week. Too bad I didn't fill up on Friday. This week I'm paying $3 more per fill-up.

The cyclamen (also called butterfly flower) is blooming beautifully.

Tomato plants are weighed down with bright green globular fruits; they would fall over if they didn't have cages to rest upon. The melon (I forget which kind I planted) is growing like crazy with small bright yellow flowers and curling tendrils and broad hairy leaves.

Summer is icumen in!
