2009-07-11 7:17 AM Trip Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (8) I woke up this morning with images running through my head: airports, lists of things to do, how to pack carryon versus suitcase. I think it was triggered by the movie SO and I watched last night about an international cartel--many scenes in airports and restaurants overseas.
Also triggered by the realization that two weeks from today I'll be in New Orleans, the Land of Lake P (no way I'm going to try to spell it). And I'll get to meet my friend F2F for the very first time. I'm really jazzed. I wonder if you can take nutrition supplements and vitamins in your luggage--things like vitamin C and iron and so forth. I guess I'll pack them and find out. The official gov site was silent on the subject. Need cash, also. Euros. What denominations are commonly used for small items and gratuities? There must be an internet site somewhere that talks about such things. And I'm positive that $USD can be exchanged for Euros once we get to our destination. Can't imagine a country turning down cash. Also, have to get a PIN for my credit card, just in case. Can't get cash from credit card without it. Though it would be only in dire emergency. The interest rates on cash from credit card qualify as usury--up to 29.99% APR. SO is awake and demanding attention. He and the cats have a lot in common. Later.
