Cruise Ship Accommodations

I really liked the cruise ship. Unpack once and enjoy your floating hotel. All the walking tours departed from the ship's berths along the Danube and returned to them.

It was nicely appointed, comfortable but not glitzy. Perfect for my taste. The glamor and dazzle of the party cruise ships is way too much for me.

The ship was immaculately clean. Every day everything was cleaned, from the vacuuming of the carpet to the dusting of the picture frames. The cabins positively twinkled with polish and cleaner. You couldn't take out a blouse and toss it across the bed without turning around to find that the room genie had folded it neatly and put it on the dresser.

The purser's desk was manned (womanned) 24/7 and the service was intelligent and immediate. I think staff were hired not only for their command of English but for their multitasking abilities.

Service was excellent. I was not a big spender, yet I saw no attitude change nor hint of sneer for moderate spending and casual clothes and relaxed attitude.

Food was good, especially low on salt, though higher in fat than I would prefer. Nearly all meals included in cost of cruise. It was possible to eat very modestly (and there were vegetarian dishes always available), though I must admit that some things were so delicious I yielded to temptation. Gained a couple of pounds which I am currently working off.

I would definitely recommend a Uniworld cruise.
