Right now I'm listening to a CD of train music given to me by a friend. Some really old well-loved favorites. Not great music. I guess you could call it "comfort" music. It's fun to play "remember when" as we're listening to it. And trying to remember artist and date(s). (My mother, who forbade me to listen to rock 'n roll, would be horrified. My childhood was woven around Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart.) The only one that everyone knew instantly was Johnny Cash. That deep, gravelly voice is unmistakable. Music keeps me alive and functioning through the day. I started out the day with Manhattan Transfer (did they ever make a bad one?) and when my boss gave me a technical manual to proof, switched to train songs. Staff meeting in 20 minutes. I have my Starbucks, my music, my proof copy. I'm ready to roll. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
