This whole week has been, for me, a whirlwind of social activities. Parties, dinners, birthdays, church services, visits with relatives--you name it.

I've enjoyed it more this year than in past years, partly because I've made sure I'm rested up for each event, and partly because I've made up my mind that this is fun, relax and enjoy it. Reading, contemplation, solitude will come later.

I'm looking forward to restoring the balance this week between outward and inward activities. And going back to my normal sleep patterns.

Good memories stored up for when they are needed most. Loving connections made and restored. Traditional observances honored. It's been a good week.
