Blue Thursday

When I arrived home yesterday, hubby greeted me with more bad news. He needs a medical procedure three or four times a day.

Which means:

I have to request a two hour lunch break (split shift), so I can drive home, perform the procedure--which he can't do because his hands shake so badly--and then drive back to work. Lunch eaten while driving; no rest period.

And again, around 11 p.m. or midnight or thereabouts, get up and perform it again, since his bladder is not supposed to get too full and back up into his kidneys.

Once in the morning before work and once again in the afternoon upon arriving home.

The funding for nursing visits is running out and the full burden of caregiving is mine, all mine.

I don't know how my health will hold up, because my MS requires me to get 8 hours sleep. And I have to do all the errands because he can't drive. How am I going to be able to cope on reduced sleep hours?

Right now I'm just upset and frazzled and tired (couldn't sleep for worrying). I'm sure it will all work out.

Good thing I love to drive.
