While a British dairy herd stood by, idly chewing, a theater troupe performed scenes from Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor.
"The cows responded by giving more milk, so the herd's owner asked the troupe's director, Rob Forknall, to use the dairy yard for all rehearsals. 'It saves us having to book rehearsal space,' says Forknall, 'and the farmer's very pleased to get more milk.'" --from THE WEEK July 16, 2010, p.14 I wonder if the cows would give more milk while being entertained by one of Shakespeare's dark and terrible tragedies, Titus Andronicus, for instance.
