Since the house temp indoors was well over 100 when I got home late last night from visiting hubby in the hospital, and there wasn't time to wait for the room to cool down with the puny window A/C running full whimper, I decided to give it a try. The bed felt like it was on fire when I lay down on it. But it worked! With the fan blowing on me from above, I was actually shivering for a bit. Really lowered the body temp and I fell soundly asleep before I dried off completely. By 2 a.m. the room had cooled off enough that I could just wipe myself down with a wet washcloth and go back to sleep. Must remember that trick if ever I get in a no A/C situation again. Thanks, Sue, for the suggestion. It works! One thing she didn't warn me about: while you're wet, every bit of cat hair in the room (and believe me, two cats can generate quite a bit) circles in a vortex with you at the center and sticks to your wet skin. And don't let a cat come and rub up against you.... Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
