Now the Day is Over

Now the day is over,
Night is drawing nigh,
Shadows of the evening
Steal across the sky....

It's been a long day, and a productive one. Got all the basic structure of jobs and assignments input into the mainframe computer for the fiscal year 2010-2011. And I'm in "bring it on" mode, because...

Changes they are a-comin', but with the basic framework input, all numbers checked and double checked, I'm ready for changes. What drives me crazy is when I'm being bombarded by revisions and reconstructions before this point in the process. It's like trying to hit a moving target with a wavering rifle from the back of a galloping horse.

Now I can look at the requests, the revisions, the input from managers who just have to change something to put their imprimatur on it. So be it. It's like a dog marking a tree; they have to make it their own--I'm Mr. Smiley Slick and I approve this plan. I'm fine with whatever the changes they make. I keep exact and detailed records, though; it can be hard to reconstruct what happened otherwise.

After work I visited hubby in the hospital. He was worse this time. He has good days and bad days. I think the anxiety is overwhelming him again. As I left they were giving him Ativan. Don't know anything about it. He says it helps the pain in his back, better than Vicodin.

I got home about 7:30 and opened all the windows to see if I could cool the house down before going to bed without turning on the A/C. Cats of course needed their treats and I drank half a bottle of cold, cold water. Aaaaah!

All in all, a decent day. Life is good.
