The Furnace

This house of mine is turning into a career all of its own. When I intended to buy a house, and was taken by a realtor to view houses for sale, nobody bothered to tell me that owning your own home turns into a full-time occupation. There is always something to fix or replace or paint or refinish or ....

Last night's project was the furnace. My roommate said I had to buy a new filter for it. According to the box (which had been saved by being jammed in between the side of the furnace and the closet wall), the filter just needed to be hosed off.

So I took it outside and blasted it with the hose's high pressure nozzle. Astonishing how much dust and cat hair had been captured, and subsequently washed out and sent down into the back lawn.

This morning it was quite chilly and when the furnace came on it was efficient (and loud). Moral of the story: clean the filters regularly to save money and improve the air quality.

OK, Universe. Ready for the next wave of duties/responsibilities. Time enough to rest when I'm dead.
