It was down to 34 degrees last night. Indoors. While you're in bed, there's a nice, warm, cozy nest and you can sleep wrapped up against the cold.

Getting up? Another proposition altogether, considering that the house had "warmed up" to 38 degrees.

New floors or no, on went the forced air heating system, and back to bed for an hour to wait for the chill to pass.

Heated houses are the best invention since indoor plumbing. Better than sliced bread. It's now a toasty 64, and quite comfortable.

Three cheers for modern inventions! (I feel sorry for the tomatoes, shivering in their cold, cold bed.)
