The upstairs carpets were cleaned (very nicely!) by a professional carpet cleaning company.

They used a scented cleaner which has a pleasant odor, but to which I am quite allergic, it turns out.

I spent an uneasy night on the downstairs living room couch, pestered by cats who didn't understand why I wasn't in my own comfy bed.

I suppose I shall have to sleep there again tonight, as well. I wonder how long it takes for that stuff to dissipate?
