It's demanding, data entry work. Every single keystroke has to be exact, turning garbage into meaningful information.
This task gets harder each year, while we try to do more customer service with fewer resources. It used to be fun, rather like a giant three dimensional puzzle, but now it's just plain stressful drudgery. I suppose part of the stress is due to the fact that the person in charge of the whole process is a newly promoted twit, who got her promotion...well...let's just say it wasn't due to intelligence and/or experience. I feel sympathy for the man who deserved the promotion, prepared for it, but ultimately wasn't pretty enough. What galls him (and I don't blame him) is that he has been ordered to do most of the work because she is incompetent. And you know how it stands: He who complains will NEVER be promoted. So he puts on a smile and does the job. I don't think I'm going to continue working past December. Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
