2011-07-03 7:30 AM The Old Saw Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) I suppose I can start out with the old saw: if you liked yesterday's weather, you'll love today's. Supposedly reaching for 103F this afternoon. The cats and I will hunker down in the shade and I will water the lawn with the hose when it gets super hot. In actuality, what I'm doing is soaking myself to get cool (taking a shower fully dressed, no soap), but don't tell the neighbors. The cats, of course, will demur.
Church will take up the morning, with a vegetarian potluck afterward. I got shanghaied, dragooned, into helping with setup and takedown, so that commitment will extend into the afternoon. At least I get a "free" lunch out of the deal. TANSTAAFL Then, after a sinking spell, I'll put away laundry and read, glass of iced tea at my elbow, cats in the grass, alas. I'm leaving the window a/c on 86 degrees while I'm gone, so the house won't quite be like a furnace when I come back inside and I can then cool it off a bit more to suit myself. Thus passeth the Sunday. Praise be to weekends! Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
