2011-08-11 8:58 AM Spoilers Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (6) I like to read spoilers. Far from "spoiling" the book for me, knowing how it turned out, the main plot line, often enhances the enjoyment.
A really well-written novel can stand a second or third reading, and is not spoiled by knowing beforehand what the denouement is. In the same way, on a first reading, I find that I enjoy the book's development of plot and characters and scene all the more when I know where it's going. So go ahead and write those spoilers. If the book is worth reading, it will stand up to any kind of revelation and analysis. If it's only attribute is a quirky twist at the end, by the hand of god, coming out of nowhere, that no one could have foreseen--well, maybe it wasn't as good as all that. Do you agree?
