2011-08-23 12:56 PM Awkward Experience Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (8) I just had the awkward experience of defending with flaming sword (well, really, sharp words) a person who is loud, obnoxious, narcissistic, and never-to-be-spoken-to-again when I retire.
HOWEVER, some jerk came in and argued that she was wrong in the job she was completing for him because she is a Lesbian.... OH, NO! I leaped out of my chair and made it clear to him that he was wrong, wrong, wrong. First, because she is an expert in the business and I trust her judgment in most things related to the business and Second, because argumentum ad hominen is a false argument always. If he wanted to say she was wrong in what she had analyzed, I wanted to see proof, and it must have nothing to do with her private life. I think my vehement attitude surprised him and her both. Me, too, since I'm usually trying to smooth things over, a peace-maker. Even if she is a drama queen and loud, and gives me fits. I will not have bigoted, evil talk in my office, as long as I continue to be here in this seat. <>end of rant<> Read/Post Comments (8) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
