I've been assigned to start work at 5 a.m. for the duration. The duration of what, I'm not sure.

Anyway, today I arrived and the building was dark, everything locked up tight and solid. Ummmmm...if I unlock the door, will it set off the alarm? I called and found out that the alarm hasn't been active for 6 months. Oh. OK.

So I worked the phones and the customer complaints (research and information) for a couple of hours all by myself. It was crazy, but I just did the best I could.

All by my lonesome.

By 7 a.m. I was on the phone making call backs, and finally someone else came to work to pick up the phone and take messages (way out of her competency level, but she does what she can, I guess). What is so f'ing hard about taking a message accurately?

Two people off sick, one person on special assignment, Manager out in the field.
