Everything looked so good at the Farmers' Market. I wanted to buy a sample of everything--deep green peppers, wine colored beets, yellow squash, yummy pluots, asian pears, and a marvelous grilled chicken sandwich for lunch.

We met with friends and ate together at the shaded tables. I had the sandwich; they had tamales. Both were hot, freshly made, and delicious. What a nice way to start the weekend. We brought home lots of delicious veggies to supplement the whole grains I like to prepare and also my famous 13-bean soup (lots of onion and garlic).
