2011-11-21 7:46 AM Stupid Construction Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (6) Contruction has resumed on the corner of the schoolyard across from my house, after a day of steady rain. It rained yesterday, about an inch or so. Nothing exciting for those of you who live in wetter climes, but a good bit of precipitation for us.
That corner is now a pond at least 5 inches deep, and NOT DRAINING. After the last rain a couple of weeks ago, it sat there wet for several days and today it's doing the same thing. What idiots plan an outdoor contruction and don't install drainage first? Today, men are standing around in hard hats, looking glum. Bet they have to dig it up and put in pipes to drain to the street drains and then put it all back together again. More noise and dirt and inconvenience. They've been working on this yard since the start of August. No wonder it's costing the school district millions of dollars. [Can you hear the sucking noise?] Our tax money at work.
