Friday was a busy day--so busy, in fact, that I never even cranked up the computer, let alone made a journal entry.

I can remember when cars had to be cranked to start.

First was appointment with my cardiologist. He's talking about valve replacement (open heart surgery). I'm hoping with exercise and supplements to avoid it, if I can. Waited so long to see doctor that it was lunchtime before I got out.

After lunch, the optometrist, to pick up glasses. Blended lenses--not sure if I'm going to be able to get used to them.

And the bank, to deposit check and listen to that sucking sound your account makes when checks and electronic payments are being paid out. I'm always grateful to have enough money to pay my bills, with some left over at the end.

I was going to get a haircut, but Anita wasn't at work, so I just went on down the freeway to visit N and get the weekly visit over with. He's procrastinated all year on dealing with his IRA and now he wants me to hurry up and help him with it.

I told him his procrastination was not my emergency. Needless to say, he wasn't happy. Tough. I don't care if there will be an IRS penalty; he is not going to use money and finances to control me. Because frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

Let's see: Today is Trader Joe's shopping and Farmers' Market. And finish the Anne Perry book I'm reading. Have you read any of hers? What did you think of them?
