One of my tenants paid his rent yesterday; he had been two months behind. It feels really good, since worrying for several days about how to pay for the $995 dental bill (crown, etc.). Mostly the tenants have been working off their rent--yard work, painting, refinishing floors, roof repair and so forth--stuff that has been on the back burner for years and now stands at a critical point.

So while it's been a blessing to have that work done (some of it still currently under way, with my kitchen all torn up), it is a very timely thing to have some cash come my direction to pay a large bill. Sure, I could have put it on plastic, but then there was the promise I made to myself not to go back into credit card debt.

So thrilled to have money, in fact, that I made a contribution to the election campaign of my preferred presidential candidate with what was left over. And in my back pocket is a check to honor my pledge to my church.

I am grateful. Life is good.
