Wednesday we're leaving to drive from L.A. to Phoenix. Yes, you read that correctly. Phoenix, Arizona, where the high temps are expected to top out at 111 degrees and where the ethical standards towards people who have brown skin approach zero.

Why, you (didn't) ask? Because I'm going to a Unitarian Universalist District Assembly (i.e., conference) where we will make plain our stand for justice in several areas, among them, treatment of immigrants and water justice.

So today I'm starting on the "get ready" tasks: I went to the post office to request my mail be held until I return. Then packing and gas in car and charging up my Kindle (won't need recharge until I return).

Later today I'll clean out the refrigerator. Who know what I'll find--
