2012-07-29 8:16 AM Getting Ready for Hot Weather? Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (6) The highs predicted for next week will be 100+, according to some prognosticators.
And stands to reason that next week is when the contractor is free to replace my windows and window air conditioners, having procrastinated for a month. Meaning that for a couple of days I'll have no relief from the heat, what with the windows being taken out, temporarily leaving the whole upstairs open. Of course it has to be done during dry weather, but the timing could have been better (during last week, for example). Nevertheless, I'm not complaining--yet. I'll get around to it, I'm sure, but in the long run I'll be delighted to have heat resistant windows with a/c better situated in the room to deal with the ferocious sunshine of the western descent of the sun. Pretty much an oven in this computer room after 3 p.m. or so. Nice in the winter, as the sun warms up the chilly house, but for most of the year, even the moderate days, it's much too hot in here without a/c running (which is expensive). Anyway, it's early morning now, upper 60's, and totally delightful. Spending the time with the doves, the hummers, the mockingbirds and the crossword. Coffee close at hand. Life is good.
