2012-10-12 8:51 AM What a Difference a Year Makes Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (4) One year ago today the high temp was 101. Today's high is predicted to huff and puff its way to 71. If we're lucky. It wasn't hard to keep walking (and not stop) this morning, I'll tell you.
Actually, I did stop for a bit. A very elderly lady was struggling to take her trash cans out to the curb, at a house about 3 blocks down from me. I helped her take them out and line them up for trash collection today and then get her garage door closed. She was struggling with them, clearly weak. She eyed me suspiciously until I introduced myself and told her where I lived. Then she smiled and accepted my help, as she was out of breath. When the conversation got around to our respective ages, I was (privately) horrified to learn that she is only a year older than I.
