Time out for financial stuff today. You know, the usual: bills, insurance, property taxes, license. For some reason that I cannot recall, most of this stuff happens the first of November.

I don't think it was a conscious choice; perhaps because November is the start of the cool season around here, I've always been energized to get moving again. And over the years, that start-up energy has become memorialized in annual or semi-annual renewals and payments.

One of the benefits of being old is having years to look back on, to see the patterns of a long life, tracks being left while the walker was all unaware of the larger picture.
