2012-10-27 9:24 AM Smoke Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (5) We've Santa Ana winds the last couple of days (and nights), with the accompanying fire warnings. This morning there's the smell of smoke on the air, though the winds have thankfully died down. For now, at least.
Fire is always a danger at this time of year. Everything is dry. Even though we had a couple of days of mist and drizle, there wasn't enough moisture to soak the earth and re-hydrate the trees. Fire is a distinct possibility, as you may recall from previous years when we had fires of great size, giving rise to national and international headlines. And then there's the east coast. I think of Hurricane Sandy (weather news says that full moon may increase hurricane impact) and TT's long planned-for cruise, starting today. I wish her and her family well, safe trip, no problems. Right next to my computer I have a monthly calendar in which I write my daily to do list. Today's square is blank, whaddya know. I guess there will be time to do my laundry (at last!) and maybe do some sorting of kitchen cabinets and drawers. Or maybe not. Read/Post Comments (5) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
