Today's excursion is to the Museum of Science and Industry to see the Space Shuttle. When John Glenn orbited the earth, we were transfixed by the event and we speculated about going to the moon and then on to the rest of the solar system, in manned missions. Humans on Mars. Wow! We did go to the moon and humans have a space station. But we have abandoned our grand plans for space exploration, preferring to remain on earth, absorbed in our internecine quarrels and in the quest for money and power. Our dreams are dust; we get old. The closest we'll ever get to space exploration is to visit the carcass of the Space Shuttle. Que lastima. Read/Post Comments (5) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
