The ePad Femme, designed and distributed by the Eurostar Group, is an eight-inch [android] tablet that comes pre-loaded with apps concerning yoga, grocery shopping, and cooking. Thank the heavens, ladies may never trouble their pretty heads with such difficulties as finding and downloading their own apps ever again."
Yes, of course, it comes in pink. The pre-loaded apps also cover such topics as clothing size conversion, pregnancy log, women's fitness, women's assistant (the icon shows a weight scale tied up with a tape measure), perfume for women, curry recipes and middle eastern recipes. The marketing man from Eurostar maintains that it is not sexist, as the company also puts out a tablet for gamers. I would semi-respectfully point out that gamers are an interest group, self-selected. And presumably they are expected to be tech smart enough to download their own apps. The tablet is sold primarily in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, where, I am told women spend a lot of time online and are more tech savvy than you might suppose.
