At least, for me, it's clearer. Since I don't know what's deductible and what isn't, I just give him everything in as organized a way as I can.
Finances are not my forte. I am a humanist, an idea person, a philosopher, perhaps. My grasp of the financial realities is tenuous, at best (thanks to Kramer for the phrase). I understand making a purchase, owing the money, paying it. I sort of understand interest and usury. And that's as far as it goes. Give me an intellectual puzzle any day, or a societal phenomenon, and I'm all over it. Money? It's a necessary evil. Starting tomorrow, the pace becomes frenzied once again.
