2013-04-19 7:33 AM Winter into Spring, Summer into Fall Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) As Batty's seasons turn into autumn for her, soon to be winter, my southern California spring is here, but it can't decide if it wants to be warm or cool or hot or what the hell temperature.
Two days ago the high was 60; between then and now we've had these howling cold dry winds; and today it's still, sunny, and supposedly topping out at 87 Fahrenheit (I love it that I know how to spell that word/name). It's dress-like-an-onion weather. Short sleeved tee with a lightweight long sleeved v-neck sweater over it (it's pink; forgive me) and because it's 48 chilly degrees still, a lightweight hoodie. The hoodie will be shed soon enough, but for now it's warm and snuggly. Such are the thoughts of a Retired Person, looking at a lovely day with no previously scheduled commitments on the calendar. Woo hoo! No walking this morning; it's trash day and I absolutely refuse to share the road with those noisy, lumbering, fume-spewing behemoths; therefore, Friday is my day off. But tomorrow it's back to the pavement, and if it's going to be as hot as they say it is, early in the morning. But that's tomorrow. 'Today will be a joyful day; enter, rejoice and come in' (or go out, as the case may be). Some of our UU hymns are very memorable--that's one of them. It's quite a feeling to go to a national UU assembly and UUs from all over the country know and sing a capella the same hymn. On key! No matter where we're from, we're all Unitarian Universalists, "a people of open minds, loving hearts and welcoming hands." Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
