Hi, it's me again, with another idea (or two).

After I heard that the Boston bombing suspect had been charged with using a weapon of mass destruction, I asked myself what does that mean?

I decided that it means a weapon that can kill many people indiscriminately.

If that is the case, then military style weapons with mega magazines should be designated WMDs and taken off the market.

IMHO.

Oh, wait, I forgot. The Congress has been terrorized by the NRA. So any reforms like revising the background checks, no matter how reasonable or gradual (let alone the more extensive measures), are out of the question, ignoring the clear will of the people they supposedly represent.

So WMDs in the hands of criminals and the insane will continue to be America's legal norm.

The First Amendment is bounded by certain restrictions on free speech where harm can be caused; but let there be no restrictions on the Second Amendment where massive numbers can be hunted put in danger with impunity.

Is this a great country or what?
