Booted up the laptop (do we still use "boot up"?) and to my dismay I cannot connect to the household wifi. I was feeling depressed and sad anyway, and the inability to get online nearly sent me back to bed, to hide under the covers and hope it will all go away and everything will be as it was--well and whole and functional.

I now see that saying goodbye to life as it was is going to be difficult. For the first time in my life I could live life on my own terms, not going to work every day answering to boss and customers, not coming home to controlling, negative husband.
