My housemate pointed to me and said we were cohabiting. I was embarrassed since we are NOT cohabiting, though we live in the same house.
This morning she challenged me on the definition of cohabit, and we had words about it. I am sure that it implies living together in an intimate or sexual relationship. She says it just means living together under the same roof. So which of is is right? I admit I'm not used to being argued with when it comes to words, definitions, grammar and (usually) punctuation. I've been called a walking dictionary (actually my Peace Corps cohorts called me a walking encyclopedia). But I do not want to be so arrogant as to think I could not be wrong. So, I turn to you.
