courir dans les tournesols Bonjour! Je m'appelle Mechaieh. This is where I dork around about pop songs, slang, and other diversions. I'm neither particularly functional nor fluent in French, other than owning a decent dictionary, so suggestions, corrections, and amplifications are most welcome. The title means "Running Around in the Sunflowers" (song by Marc Lavoine). |

2007-06-06 7:42 PM the wild bunnies are hopping loose again All things considered, it's clear I'm incurably tame (weirdness memes and flashes of temper notwithstanding). Yesterday I came across Mr. Rogers/Bruce Springsteen smut (and NO I'm not looking it up again to link to it, but it's an LJ:lottelita rec if your curiosity is killing you), which just goes to prove there are entire realms of wrongness beyond my ken.
Not that there isn't plenty of wrongness to wallow in within my domain. Exhibit A: This is a video of some Francophone pop stars singing "Au Bout De Mes Reves" (At the Edge of My Dreams) -- that's all -- but does my mind leave it there? No, it wants to cast them as the Marauders + Lily (and a glimpse of Snape on bass) and write a deranged AU where it turns out Jean-Jacques Goldman was using a Time Turner all these years and he's really a wizard named -- well, actually, "Jean-Jacques Goldman" is already a strange name for a pop star, it should do just fine in the Potterverse. ;-) Sure, my brain could do worse, but it sure ain't right. I don't even like writing MWPP-era. Exhibit B: Sudden urge to write Sinistra/McGonagall. LJ:catrinella is so totally to blame for this. Speaking of whom -- Catrinella and Thermidor are running a new RPG called Honour Bright. Nifty premise, flexible format, intriguing hints of backstory (look at who's listed as "deceased" in game canon), and lots of characters available...
