Finding my limits

4 November: Felt up to walking but didn't, just didn't find the time.

5 November: In my previous walking I've been worried that I wasn't getting my heart rate up enough. So tonight I really pushed myself. With the help of the Google Maps Pedometer I found an interesting route. About one mile from the house to the surfer statue, then a mile along the ocean to the intersection with Woodrow, then turn around, a mile back to the statue, a mile back home. My plan: to walk the first mile, jog as much of the next two as I could, then walk the last mile home, for a 4-mile total of 2+ miles walking and as much of 2 miles jogging as I could do.

That was a challenge. Some notes-to-self: I should wear my orthotics in my running shoes; I should carry/wear my LED headlamp because there are parts of the route where I can't quite see the sidewalk/curb; I should be careful about my knee, which hurts a little now; I should leave my glasses at home because they fog up when I exhale.
