G&T and Thee

After two days of eating way too much food of the sort I seldom eat, all I want is water with lemon, and perhaps some yogurt. Well, coffee, too. Tomorrow I may have to eat sushi, because for some reason it sets everything right. I am not accustomed to consecutive days full of rich food.

Somehow, as much as I like toddling through town, I realize I would prefer to spend my time hiking the beach or in the hills above the ocean. I want to smell the trees and feel the wind and get my blood moving. I want to conquer something.

Today my friend and I talked about couples who have been together a long time. When they spend time apart, it would make sense that they would "get busy" upon being reunited. I said I couldn't imagine that people wouldn't take advantage of . . . poop, I said it so well when it came from my mouth, and now of course I can't remember a thing. Some kind of passion. There was an interesting adjective, I swear.

Oh, yes, that they would take advantage of opportunistic passion. Those of us not in relationships think they are crazy for not leaping at every shred of connubial bliss, though I can remember when I would not have.

There appears to be a cable channel available in Oregon (G4) that shows nothing but Star Trek in all its permutations. I am in heaven.

We saw a sort of normal car today, with a bumper sticker that read: "Don't let the car fool you - my treasure is in Heaven". I riffed on what semi-offensive bumper stickers I might make, what sayings could offend more than one group at a time. How about the Christian feminist credo, "In case of Rapture, this vehicle will be unwomaned"? Okay, so I'd had a G&T and it was funny at the time.

There is no interesting stuff flowing tonight. Guess I'll just have to flatline in front of Picard and the crew.
