Killer Bunny Slippers - a tip; more.

Here is a tip from me - when wearing Killer Bunny slippers (KBS), be cautious.

For instance, do not attempt to casually climb the pull-down attic stairs to the sleeping loft while wearing KBS. I was successful only through great diligence. Hang on tightly, and take the time to make sure the heads of the KBS do not impede the placing of the foot on the next tread. When descending, this is even more important. Do not attempt this maneuver at all if your KBS do not come equipped with Super Tread Dots on the bottom. Luckily, mine have the dots.

And why didn't I turn off that alarm clock in the first place?

Third night at the Cove, but the first in the loft. This loft thing ROCKS. I didn't have to turn the electric blanket past 30%, I needed only one layer of duvet on top of me, and not once did I wake in the night because I was too cold. I heard the cats a few times, but they are part of the control circumstances, not the experimental variables.

I slept through the night. No drugs, no high-tryptophan foods, no gorging on pot pie, no companion, no TV, no self-pleasure. Just me, lying down and falling asleep and staying there. Quelle surprise!

Last night I brought over the disassembled IKEA couch and chair and put them back together. Finally a place to sit off the floor. The chair goes perfectly under the nook created by the attic stairs, so that will be the reading nook. Two bookshelves, a side table, and the comfy rocker with a warm blankie or two. Nice.

The Tanqueray is so happy in the fridge, waiting for me to kick the last of my cold and take that celebratory cocktail.

The cats have found joy on top of the refrigerator. Cats in general love to be at different levels, climbing to perches and watching the world go by. I found them curled up together this morning, looking down at me contentedly. When the cats are happy, mama's happy. I don't know how I will do when they go to live with their daddy in a few weeks.

The Tacoma place is a war zone of dust bunnies and boxes. General disarray, as is to be expected. But so satisfying. (LMT is crapping herself right now to think of the tedium and chaos of anyone moving. There, there, honey; at least it's not you.)

I'm sitting on my couch, watching the sky lighten to reveal the Kitsap Peninsula, thinking, "in my former life, I would have been on a ferry right now, but here I am in my pajamas. Ahh."

Wondrous cool, thou beachfront quiet.
