I got a call today from Comcast saying they were going to shut off my service for nonpayment. Really? I never got a bill.

They say they never had one returned, so they figured I just wasn't paying. I owe them over $300. WTF?

Well, it appears that they were sending the bills to my physical address. Guess what, folks: there IS NO MAILBOX at my physical address. I've looked for one at the top of my road and couldn't find one. I've looked on the front of the building and couldn't find one. And I have NEVER given out my physical address as my mailing address, EVER.

So I broke out the credit card, since payday is next week and I sure don't have enough in checking to cover this one. Ouch.

Please, everyone, become a teacher so you can be inadequately paid once a month and have to cringingly explain to creditors that because you're a teacher, you won't have money until the end of the month.

It feels great.

And, guess who no longer has cable? Grrrr. But I kept the high-speed internet. A girl has her reasons.
