2007-04-28 3:54 AM Who Massages the Massager? Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) Well, Netta and other JS darlings, other massagers do.
For the next year, I will give and get massage at least two days a week during school hours. The first two quarters entail me massaging a fellow student, then we switch. Simple Swedish strokes. During this time, and throughout the program, I will be required to also give massages for "homework" to a given number of people. (Hence the loving preparation of the massage room these days.) Third quarter we move into deep tissue work. In addition to the two days of working on each other in class, we also work one day a week in the student clinic, massaging the public. Fourth quarter is the same, but some students (top 20%) are selected to do a sports or hospital internships. I may try for the hospital one - I'd be working on patients, their families, and the medical staff. I think it would be fascinating to be in a hospital. Once school is out, I'll do what most massage therapists do - find someone who likes what I do, and swap out with them. And, if I'm desperate, I will pay for what I need. Que sera, sera. And have a namaste! Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
