Massage the rest of your family, then go hiking

I have massaged my niece KB, my niece Anki, and my Sissie. Woo-hoo! (Brother-in-law Dew said no thanks - he has never had anything but sports massage and he isn't into the idea of massage for "other" purposes. Bah, humbug.) All of my massage homework is now done for the quarter except the in-class massage, and, well, I have to be (you guessed it) in class for that.

Everyone responded well to my ministrations.

My sister ran 16 miles in the mountains today, so she was a willing victim! She amazes me. I don't aspire to running 16 miles, but I would love to hike that far. I wrote down every potential hiking day between now and the start of fall quarter, and I hope to hike a bunch of places. I've had some trouble syncing my schedule with those of my friends, so I may take some of these alone. Always with a whistle, a cell phone, and a small weapon of some kind - me and my trusty kung fu, or shiv, or whatever. (Weapons come in many types, so don't get all freaked out there.)

Partial list of places I'd like to get to:

Meander Meadow (August 26-28, oh yeah!)
Cady Ridge
Nason Ridge
Fourth-of-July Pass
Lake Dorothy and the lakes beyond it
Goldmyer Hot Springs
Gothic Basin (would love an overnight)
Thorp Lake
Lake Valhalla and surroundings
Klahanie Mountain (Oregon)
Lake Ozette
Commonwealth Basin
Iron Goat (Teanaway)

...and I'm open to suggestions! I think for mileage for day hikes, I'd like to start with ten miles R/T and under; for overnights up to 10 miles each way. And certainly, if you are a hiker, please let's go!

I'll have pics up soon of my afternoon at Smithbrook, FS Road 6700. Slainthe!
