Svensson (also Svenson and anglicised Swensson or Swenson [also Swanson]) is the ninth most common Swedish family name, and literally means "son of Sven". It is also the Swedish counterpart to Joe Bloggs [this must be the British equivalent of Joe Blow], a placeholder name for a person considered to possess average qualities.
