2007-12-04 11:09 PM Long Way 'Round Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman went around the world, east from London to New York, in 2004. I've just finished watching the documentary of their trip for the second time.
Long Way Round is an amazing journey. Get the DVD if you haven't seen this yet. Soon to be released is the video of their second journey, Long Way Down. They began earlier this year in John O'Groats, Scotland, and rode to the southern tip of Africa. I can't wait to see how that trip went. I've only gone a few days from home on my motorcycle. Watching these men travel 20,000 miles (albeit with a support crew to meet them at borders) is a huge inspiration. And every time I watch the episode where they see their families for the first time in four months, I cry. It would be nice to have someone who means that much to me, someone I would greet with such care and tenderness. But that's another post.
